New Studio

This new area started being built on March 2001, and is a result of the partnership between IAV and WSDG (Walters Storyk Design Group). The project was created by John Storyk himself and includes:

  • Two recording studios with a control room in between
  • Two iso-booths that may also be used for recording
  • Control room with 5.1 monitoring system
  • Acoustical isolation for NC 25 curve with box-in-a-box architecture
  • Visual communication between all rooms with control room in between
  • Machinery room completely isolated from studios and control room

The construction is being supervised by the Engineer Renato Cipriano, official WSDG representative in Brazil and IAV professor on the Basic and Acoustics Specialization courses.

Among the equipments that are being purchased for this new studio are:

  • DYNAUDIO AIR 5.1 Monitoring System with two subwoofers
  • Analog and Digital Audio Mixers
  • Analog tape machines of 2" and ¼"
  • Digital 24-bit Recording System
  • Vintage Tube Peripherals and modern systems with high signal-to-noise ratios
  • Diverse microphone kits of different brands and unique characteristics

In these studios we will perform the Acoustics Specialization Course, the Hands-on Recording Course and new courses which are being elaborated together with active audio professionals, such as the Synchronism Course.
